Simple Dal curry



Dal curry


Simple Dal curry as the name says its very simple and easy,i usually make this when i get bored to cook any kuzlambu/gravy,its ready in 15min and taste excellent.Hope many know to make this,yet it may be useful for some beginners.


Ingredients:
(p.time-15 min.serves-3)

  • Toordal-1\2 cup
  • Onion-1 big
  • Garlic pods-5
  • Green chilli-1
  • Jeera/cumin seeds- 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder- 1tsp
  • Tomato-1
  • Oil- 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

To temper:

  • Ghee/oil- 2 tsp
  • Mustard-1 tsp
  • Curry leaves/cilantro
  • Hing powder- 1 tsp
  • Red chilli-1

Method:

1.Wash dal well.Cut onion and tomato,peel skin of garlic.

2.Add dal to cooker with 2 cup water,onion,tomato,slitted chilli,jeera/cumin,turmeric powder,garlic pods and 1 tsp oil.

3.Switch on the gas and cook for 4 to 6 whistle till the dal is completely smashed.

4.After the steam is released open the cooker,add salt and mix well.

5.Temper with the ingredients under temper.

Delicious dal curry is ready.You can serve it with hot rice or even with chapatti.


Note:

I add 1 tsp oil in dal for it to cook well.You can use any dal u prefer.

If adding cilantro don't temper it,just add it to the dal.
