Betel Leaves Rasam | Vethallai Rasam
We would have seen grand parents chewing this betel leafs after lunch.Once for a while i take pan from the pan-wala outside restaurant after having heavy lunch.This pan leaf/betel leaves help in digestion.During summer I had plans to make paan ice icream must due to lazziness i didn't try but i promise will try and post next summer.This leaf also cures cold,so next time when you are left with some of this leaf try this rasam.

Curry leaves is one major green which we use in all recipe which includes tempering. The aroma it emits when tempering will make it more salivating. Whenever we buy vegetables here in Chennai, India the vegetable vendors will give this curry leaves for free. As we buy weekly we get a huge bunch every week. I mostly trash the previous week leaves. Sometimes when leaves are not withered I try this gravy or use it in making podis.

After making pirandai thogayal and pirandai idli, now I'm here with another recipe with it. The climate calls for nice hot rasam to be mixed up with rice. Instead of making simple rasam try making this healthy pirandai rasam. I got some ideas from here and made this. The original recipe called to use tender creeper but in the pack, I bought there was no tender one hence used the matured part only.

Some gravy/recipe may look simple but so comforting that can be had with simple pickle which tastes the best and make us feel as if we had some great meal.This dal rasam to comes in the same category which looks quite easy but tastes awesome and hence this rasam can be called as comforting food when you are soo lazy to prepare heavy lunch.Yesterday when i was confused about the lunch preparation suddenly this strikes my head and decided to make.We had it with bhindi/okra stir fry,and papad.There may be any traditional way to make this rasam but i made it in my way.

This gravy or kuzhambu is so simple and easy to make with just around 10 mins and it tastes great with hot steamed rice and some fried papad.When you are not in a mood to cook long elaborate dishes go for this simple comfort one.Here I have used lady's finger but you can also use brinjal instead of it.I have not used coconut in it but if you want to make for more people you may add some coconut paste to get more quantity of the gravy.
