This is an easy rasam with unique taste of pineapple in it.I love my food to be a little sweet hence this rasam was awesome for me.It is said that they serve this rasam in marriages but i haven't tasted this taste in any marriage yet.Give a try and you may like it..

Ingredients:
To grind to a coarse form:
- Garlic flakes-3
- Jeera/cumin seeds-1\2 tsp
- whole pepper-1 tsp
Other ingredients:
- Toor dal-1\4 cup
- Tomato-1
- pineapple-2 rings
- oil-1 tsp
- mustard seeds-1\2 tsp
- hing powder-1\2 tsp
- Turmeric powder-1\2 tsp
- coriander leaves
- curry leaves
- salt- to taste
Method:
1.Grind garlic,pepper and cumin seeds to a coarse form. Pressure cook toor dal with turmeric powder.Grind a ring of pineapple to a fine paste.Chop 1\2 tomato and a pineapple ring in to small pieces.
2.In a bowl smash 1\2 tomato with your hand well.To it add ground fine paste of pineapple & coarse paste of masala and mix well.Add 1\2 cup water and mix well.
3.Heat oil in a pan,pop out mustard seeds,hing powder and curry leaves.Add the chopped tomato
& pineapple pieces and saute for a while till it becomes tender.
4.Then add in the mixed masala water to it followed by cooked toor dal and mix well.Add in salt.Adjust water accordingly.Add chopped coriander leaves and wait for it to forth.When it is about to boil switch off and close with lid.
Tangy and tasty pineapple rasam is ready to be served.
