October 28th was my daughter's birthday,for her i made this cake.I wanted to bake something with blue while searching internet saw many and ended up with this one.Also i gave try with cream powder which i purchased a month back for frosting.Kids were happy to see colour.
Ingredients:
- Flour- 2 &1\2 cup
- Eggs-2
- sugar-1 &3\4 cup
- baking powder-1 tbsp
- cocoa powder-1 tbsp
- Unsalted Butter-1\2 cup(100gms)
- Milk-1 cup
- Vanilla essence-2 tsp
- Blue food colour
- Whipping powder-as needed.
- Blue coloured sugar granules(see note how i made)
How i made:
1.Sieve flour with baking powder and cocoa powder well.
2.In a mixing bowl cream butter and sugar well.then add one egg at time and beat well.
3.Slowly add in the flour and milk alternately and mix well till it is incorporated well.
4.Add blue food colour and essence and just fold in don't over mix it.
5.Pour it in a greased pan and bale it in a pre heated oven at 180 C deg for 25-30 mins or till a tooth pick inserted comes out clear.
I got two round cake.I just increased one cake colour to dark blue.
For frosting:
Cream powder is available in market.
Just add water to some powder and beat it.Your cream is ready.
Decorate it as per your wish.Sprinkle some blue colour sugar on top.

Note:
For blue sugar crystal,take granulated sugar in bowl,add a drop of colour ,shake it or mix it.your coloured sugar sprinkles is ready.
