As yesterday was my son's birthday i prepared few dishes for it and this was one among it and first paneer dish to post in my blog.I wanted to post long back dishes with it but the time has come now only.Paneer is a favourite one in my house,my daughter will eat it just like that i too love paneer dishes. Not more about it we got to this easy recipe with paneer.I made this in my own way adding nuts for more richness.
Ingredients:
- paneer cubes- 1 cup (homemade or store brought)
- Peas/mattar-1\2 cup (i used fresh one)
- Onion- i big sliced
- tomato- 1 big sliced
- Green chilly-1 thinely sliced
- Red kashmiri chilly powdr- 2 tsp
- Coriander seeds powder- 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder- 1\4 tsp
- Garam masala- 1 tsp
- ginger garlic paste-1 &1\2 tsp
- Olive oil/any cooking oil-3 tsp
- jeera- to temper(1\2 tsp)
- salt to taste
- coriander/cilantro leaves- to garnish.
To soak & grind:
- Cashew nut- 2 tbsp
- Milk- 1\4 cup
How i made:
1.Soak cashew nut in milk and grind it to a paste.
2.Fry paneer cubes in a pan and soak the fried paneer in water.
3.Heat little oil and fry onion and tomato for a while, cool and grind it to a paste mix.
4.In the same kadai add oil and temper some jeera, green chilly followed by the ground onion- tomato paste and saute for a while.then add ginger garlic paste ,saute till the raw smell goes.
5.Then add all powders ,salt and add paneer cubes and green peas.Add water for the masala to blend with paneer & peas.
6.When its almost cooked take it out from flame, then add the cashew paste and mix well.Keep in low flame fro 5 mins and switch it off.
garnish with cilantro and serve.
We all loved this rich creamy masala and all finished very soon.We had it with ghee rice.
Note:
1.If using dry peas ,soak it for 5-7 hrs and pressure cook it for 1-2 whistle.
2.You can add dried kasoori methi leaves for more flavour in the end.If adding crush them in ur palm and add.
3.For even more creamier version u can add cream also.
