Barnyard Millet / Kuthiravaali curd rice | Millet Recipes


I hope many like curd rice mainly kids love it.I like to have a small amount of it after heavy lunch.Making it is easy and so thought not to blog for a long.Lastly decided to try crud rice with millet there is no difference in taste.Try this healthy version of curd rice.



Preparation time:under 10 mins
cooking time:under 15 mins
serves-2

Ingredients:


  • Barnyard millet/kuthiravaali rice-1 cup
  • water-3 cups
  • Milk-3\4 cup
  • thick curd/yogurt-1\2 cup
  • Salt to taste


to temper:


  • Oil-2 tsp
  • mustard-1 tsp
  • chopped ginger-1\2 tsp
  • green chilly-1,chopped finely





Method:

1.Wash the millet well and pressure cook it with 3 cup water for 3-4 whistle.After the pressure is released open it and mash well when it is hot.



2.Then add the milk and mash it well.Allow it to cool before adding the curd/yogurt.

3.Meanwhile temper all the ingredients under " to temper" .Add curd and tempered items to the mashed millet.Add salt and mix well.



Tasty and healthy curd rice is ready.




You can make curd rice with rice and other millets too in the same way.

Note:

1.If you are packing it add more milk and little curd to avoid it from souring.

2.You can add grated carrot,chopped cucumber and pomegranate to it to make more colourful
