Pancharantna dal is nothing but five dals cooked together which is one of the favourite Rajasthani recipe.Pancha means five .The five lentils used are
- Toor dal
- Moong dal
- Channa dal
- Masoor dal
- Skinned urad dal

serves-2 to 3
Ingredients:
- Toor dal-2 tbsp
- moong dal-2 tbsp
- channa dal-2 tbsp
- urad dal-2 tsp
- masoor dal-2 tbsp
- jeera-1\2 tsp
- Garlic flakes-2
- Turmeric powder-1\4 tsp
- garam masala-1\2 tsp
- red chilly powder-1 tsp
- salt to taste
- oil-2 tsp
- mustard-1\2 tsp
- Ghee- to top it
Method:
1.Clean all the dal well and soak it in water for 15 mins(for easy cooking).Pressure cook it with 2-3 cups of water along with jeera and turmeric powder for 3-4 whistle or till done.
2.After the pressure is released open the cooker and mashed it well.Add in garam masala,chilly powder and salt.Cook in for few minutes.
3.Heat a tadka pan add oil pop out mustard seeds,crushed garlic and saute for a while.Then pour it over the cooked dal.Mix well.
Add some ghee and serve hot for rice.
Note:
1.You can also make it with tomato and onion.
