Semiya/Vermicelli Khichadi | Semiya in mixed Vegetable | Easy Breakfast

I love any recipe with semiya i am fond of it from my childhood.I have not attempted to give it to my kids.Today for breakfast i want them to have it so made and gave it , they too loved it.Simple and healthy one pot dish.



Preparation time:under 10 mins
Cooking time:10 mins

Ingredients:

  • Semiya/vermicelli-2 cup
  • Water-3 cups
  • Oil-2 tsp
  • cashew-few
  • Mustard-1 tsp
  • onion-1 small,chopped
  • Green chilly-1
  • curry leaves-few
  • mixed vegetables- 3\4 cup(carrot,beans and green peas)
  • salt to taste
  • lemon-1 (optional)



Method:

1.Dry roast the semiya for few minutes.Then heat oil in the same pan pop out mustard,cashew.then add in chopped onion ,curry leaves and green chilly.Saute for a while.

2.Then add the chopped vegetables,saute ,sprinkle little water and cook for a while.

3.Then add water,salt and allow it to boil.When the water boils add the roasted semiya and cook till water is absorbed.



Squeeze lemon juice(optional) serve hot.
