Today's recipe is a yogurt based gravy ie Mambazha pulissery.As its summer and mangoes are in season try this easy gravy.I already have posted pineapple pulissery in my blog do check it.
Preparation time: 15 mins
cooking time:under 30 mins
Serves-2 to 3
Ingredients:
- Ripe mango-1
- Turmeric powder-1\4 tsp
- Red chilly powder-1\2 tsp
- Yogurt-1\2 cup
- salt to taste
To grind:
- Grated coconut-1\3 cup
- Green chilly-2
- Jeera/cumin seeds-1\2 tsp
To temper:
- Oil-2 tsp
- Mustard-1\2 tsp
- curry leaves-few
Method:
1.Clean and peel the skin of mango.Chop in to medium sized pieces and cook it in water with turmeric and red chilly powder.
2.Mean while whisk the curd well.Grind all the ingredients under "to grind" to a fine paste.
3.When the mango pieces are cooked add the ground masala,salt to it.let it be in slow flame till the raw smell goes.Switch off.
4.when it has cooled a bit add in the whisked curd/yogurt to it.Mix well.
5.Heat a tadka pan add oil ,pop out mustard followed by curry leaves.Add this mixture to the gravy.
Easy and yummy yogurt mango curry is ready.
Note:
1.For tempering you can use coconut oil.
2.Before adding curd let the gravy cool a bit else it may curdle.
