If you are looking for an easy ,quick and instant sambar then try this which is a super easy which can be made in jiffy.I saw this on a TV program tried it for pongal it was yummy.

Serves-2 to 3
Ingredients:
- Roasted gram dal/ pottukadalai / chutney dal- 3 tbsp
- onion-1 big,chopped
- Tomato-1,chopped
- Sambar powder-2 tsp( else see note)
- Turmeric powder-1\4 tsp
- Jaggery-a small piece(optional,i didn't add)
- Salt to taste
- Oil-2 tsp
- Mustard-1\2 tsp
- coriander leaves- to garnish
Method:
1.Take fried gram dal in a mixer and powder it.Mix the powder in 1\2 cup of water ,keep ready.
2.Heat oil in a kadai pop out mustard .Add in onion saute till it becomes translucent followed by tomato and cook till it becomes mushy.
3.Then add sambar powder,turmeric powder ,salt and the dal powder water to it and allow it to boil.
4.This get thicken fast to switch off accordingly.Add jaggery (if adding) and switch off
.
Garnish with corinader leaves and serve with idli /dosa / pongal or vadai.
Note:
1.If you don't have sambar powder add chilly and coriander powder as per taste.
