Kulkuls is a goan Christmas sweet which is hard outside and soft inside. Its very difficult to a make my toddler son eat a food/sweet.If somehow i manage to give a piece to test it taste & if he likes it he will be going on asking for it.Like wise yesterday when i gave this a piece first he liked it and asked for more.Thank you priya for the detailed post and the recipe.
Preparation time: 10 mins
Cooking time: under 30 mins
Recipe source: cook like priya

- sugar-1\3 cup
- Butter-2 tbsp

Method:
1.Powder the 1\3 sugar in the mixer (for easy mixing).Melt butter.
2.In a bowl add flour, powdered sugar, salt , baking soda and mix well. Then add melted butter mix to resemble bread crumbs.
3.Then slowly add water and form a soft dough.Take a small gooseberry sized dough and flatten in a fork.then roll it to form a curls as shown in the picture.Do the same for all the dough.
4.Heat oil in a pan and fry these curls till it becomes golden brown and drain them in kitchen towel/tissue.
5.Sprinkle icing sugar on the warm kulkuls to coat well.
Cool and store in air tight container.
Note:
1.Lets the curls be closed well else it may open while frying. Can use water to seal them.
