A week before my uncle, who went to kerala bought a jack fruit and gave me 1\4 of it.We ate those yummy yellow fruit and I made this stir fry with it.We usually cook the seed and eat as like it,for a change this time made a dish it.
Ingredients:
- Jack fruit seed
- Onion-1
- Garlic flakes-5
- Red chilly powder-1 tsp
- Turmeric powder- 1\2 tsp
- Coriander powder- 1\2 tsp
- cumin/jeera powder- 1\2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil
- Mustard to temper
- Grated coconut to garnish(optional)
Method:
1.Pressure cook the jack fruit seeds for 1 whistle .Cool it and remove the white skin from it,which will come out easily after cooking.
2.Cut it into length wise. cut onions and keep ready.
3.Heat oil in a pan, pop out mustard, add onions ,chopped garlic and saute a while.
4.Then add the boiled jack fruits seeds to it.
5.Add all the powders and salt,if needed just sprinkle little water,close it and cook till all masala get coated well with the seeds.
6.Remove from heat and just add grated coconut over it.( this step is optional).
Yummy and easy stir fry ready.
Note:
1.You can add boiled potatoes with it and make a stir fry together.
2.Some will remove the brown skin also but its up to you.
