- Red raw rice- 1\4 cup
- Pearl millet/Kambu- 1\4 cup
- dry corn-2 tbsp.
- Whole wheat- 1\4 cup
- Whole Green gram dal- 3 tbsp.
- oats- 3 tbsp.
- Badam-3 r 4
- Cardamon-2
Method:
- Dry roast each ingredients separately.
- Allow it to cool.
- Powder it in mixer/processor and sieve to collect the solid particles and powder it again.
- Cool the powder and store it in air tight container.
Note:
1.You can add other cereals& nuts like maize, horse gram, sago, peanuts, etc, if making it in large quantity powder it in the mill.
2.you can adjust the measurements too.
Health mix Ladoo:
Now lets come to the recipe:
Ingredients:
- Health mix powder
- Palm jaggery/karupatti
- Grated coconut
This is palm jaggery/ karupatti
Method:
1.Dry roast the health mix powder well.
2.Roast the grated coconut in a tawa till all its moisture evaporates and keep aside.
3.Make a syrup with palm jaggery/karupatti and filter the impurities, keep ready( no need to check string consistency).
4.In a mixing bowl add health mix powder, coconut and mix well.Add the syrup little to it and mix well.Take small amount of the mix and make balls with it.If ur not able to make balls add little more syrup and make.
Variations:
To make porridge/kangi for kids dissolve 2 tsp of it in 1\2 water& 1\4milk and stir it continuously in low flame till it reaches kanji stage.Add sugar and feed them with spoon.
Note:
1.Here I have not given u the measurement,my health mix powder was sweet,so I made syrup with one palm jaggery and added just some of it.Add according to ur taste buds.
2.Don't make this balls in big quantity, make it when ever needed,,as its not very difficult.
3.since I used store brought I dry roasted it,omit it if u use home made powder.
