One afternoon my daughter said that I want to eat something sweet to eat, that too I want that sweet filled samos which she likes the most. I always crave to eat something sweet, so at once decided and made it.My daughter was surprised to see it after she returns from her hindi class. My son like bhaji more and for him I made that and fulfilled their liking.
Ingredients:
For the outer cover:
- Flour/maida- 1 cup
- Corn flour- 1 tsp(optional)
- Salt
- Oil- 1 tbsp.
For the filling:
- Grated coconut- 1\2 cup
- Rava/semolina- 1\3 cup
- elachi/cardamom-1
- Sugar- 3\4 cup
1.Mix flour, corn flour, salt and oil well.Add water little by little and make soft pilable dough, keep it covered for some time.
2.Dry roast rava in a wok/pan and keep aside. In the same pan dry roast the grated coconut till all moisture evaporates and then transfer on the bowl with rava.
3.Powder sugar with the cardamom pod and transfer to the same bowl, mix everything well,ur stuffing is ready.
4.Now take the dough and knead for a while.Take a lemon size ball and roll in to a thin puri.
6.Take a tbsp. of the stuffing and place it on the thin puri , close the puri well and seal it well. Can use a cutter or knife to trim the edges.Be careful not to cut the seal as it may open out on frying.
7.Repeat the same for all and keep it covered till frying.
8.Deep fry them in oil until a light golden form occurs on the outer surface, flip both side well and fry.
9.Drain excess oil in a kitchen towel/tissue.Cool down and store it in an air tight container.
Note:
1.For the filling u can use fried gram dal/pottukadalai instead of rava.
