Easy Pottukadalai Murukku | Festive Recipe

Looking for easy murukku variety then try this one which is super easy and tasty too.This can be made with rice flour but i made it in different way ,check it out.

Ingredients:


  • Raw rice- 1 cup
  • Chutney dal/pottukadalai- 1\3 to 1\2 cup
  • Butter/oil-2 tsp
  • Black sesame seeds-1 tsp
  • hing powder-1\2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil-to deep fry.





How i made:

1.Clean and soak rice in water for 2-3 hrs.Mean while powder the chutney dal/pottukadai in to a fine powder and keep ready.

2.Drain water form the rice and grind the rice in a mixer/grinder(i used mixer) to a fine paste with very little water.Transfer to a bowl.

3.To it add powder dal,hing,salt,butter or oil and sesame seeds.Mix everything and form a smooth dough.Add chutney dal powder if needed.

4.Take a small amount of the dough and fill in the murruku presser,use any disc u prefer. and press the dough on back of a ladle.

5.Heat oil in a pan and when it is hot gently flip the ladle over the hot oil so that the pressed murruku fall in to it.Fry till it become golden brown and drain excess oil.

Repeat the same for all the dough.

Cool it well and store it in an air tight container.




Note:

1.You can also make this with ready made rice flour.
