Advance Pongal wishes for people who celebrate it.Its the harvest festival for people of Tamilnadu.Lets pray the nature God to grand all wellness this year.
On this special day i share with u a healthy kara pongal,little millet/samai pongal.Try this healthy one and enjoy the festival .
Preparation time- 10 mins
Cooking time- 15 mins
Serves-3 to 4
Ingredients:
Little millet/samai-1 cup
Split moong dal-1\4 cup
Water-3 cup
milk-1 cup
salt to taste
Temper:
Ghee- 3 tsp
Jeera/cumin seeds-1\2 tsp
Crushed pepper-1\2 tsp
ginger ,chopped-1 tsp
green chilly,sliced- 2
cashew nut-5-8
corainder/cilantro leaves
Method:
1.Dry roast split moong dal in a pan till a nice aroma comes,be careful not to burn it.
1.Clean the little millet.In a pressure cooker add little millet/samai and roasted dal.Add in 3 cup water and a cup of boiled,cooled milk along with salt.Close and pressure cook it for 3-4 whistle till it is done.
3.After the pressure is released open and mash it.
4.Heat ghee in pan and all ingredients under "to temper" one by one and pour over the cooked pongal,mix it well.
serve hot with sambar and coconut chutney.
