Motichoor ladoo are made with very fine shaped boondhi, fried and soaked up in sugar syrup. Unlike boondhi ladoo here the boondhis are very fine. To make it very fine here a specially perforated ladle is used. I bought this ladle last year and tried this ladoo. But I didn't get fine balls hence didn't blog about it. This time I gathered tips from many pages and I some what made smaller ones from my previous batch. The trick is while making boondhi after pouring the batter over the ladle immediately have to tap/bang over a weight so that the boondhi falls in tiny forms in the hot oil. Don't worry if you didn't get smaller boondhi, get give a coarse grind in a mixer and make ladoo.

Plum Juice | Summer Drink



Whenever i buy fruits i always want to try some new recipes with it for the sake of blogging,so  with the same thought i bought few plums from the fruit vendor last week.I ate few and kept it in fridge searching for simple recipe.First thought of making jam them some baked goodies and finally ended up making this juice from here. I just love the bright colour of the drink.Do try you will be amazed by its taste & colour.

After trying out an easy method of Bisibelabath I want to try my hand on khichdi. I have tried khichdi with rava/sooji, I want particularly try this khichdi with the khichdi dal available in the market. If you don't seem to get this dal then use regular moong dal. Khichdi is somewhat similar to pongal whereas in Pongal we don't use any vegetable but her in this khichdi you can use a mix of vegetables or else like this recipe, palak khichdi.

Idiyappam/string hopper is my family favorite recipe. Mostly I prepare this idiyappam for dinner as we can make it more leisurely. You can use any spicy gravy either veg or non-veg to pair up. This string hopper like puttu can be made with all flours. I do have some variety in my blog, check it in the search box. After making yellow corn puttu I decided to make this string hoppers with the flour. You can use only this corn flour or a mix of rice flour with it. I used half cup rice flour.

If using for idli/dosa slightly make it dilute with some water.Here I have posted two types of making it in which one is with coconut and the other without. We all know the health benefits of millets and i need not brief it again for you.They  are high in fibre and low in carbohydrates and its best to use millets instead of rice in our diet.Last week for my kids lunch i packed rotis  so that i can have millet for lunch.I made with 1\3 cup first the sadam/rice then diluted it with buttermilk and had the porridge.
