Coconut Burfi/Fudge | Thenga Burfi | Indian Sweet

Coconut Fudge/burfi is one of  the easiest sweet one can try.Even a beginners can try this sweet as it is so simple with few ingredients.When I was in college I use shared this recipe with my friends and one of my friend tried it and got huge appreciation.Yes, its very easy and I guess your pantry will surely have all items for it.When you get sudden sweet carving do try this simple sweet and indulge in it.

Ingredients:

  • Grated coconut-1\2 cup
  • sugar-1\3 to 1\2 cup ( i used just 1\3 cup)
  • cardamon powder-1\4 tsp
  • ghee-2 tsp
  • cashew nuts-few

Method:

1.Fry cashew in ghee and keep ready.Grease a plate.

2.Add grated coconut,sugar into a non-stick pan .Keep sauteing it in low flame.The sugar will release water and then it will become thick.Keep stirring.


3.Add in cardamom powder and  fried cashews.When it leaves the sides of the pan  transfer it into a  greased plate and flatten it.Draw lines when it is still hot.

4.Cool and separate the pieces.Tasty and easy burfi is  ready.





Notes:

1.While grating the coconut grate be careful that the you don't grate the brown part near the shell.

2.Don't saute for  a long time after it forms a mass since it may make the burfi hard.once it forms like mass transfer it to a greased plate.
