Mango Pachadi/ mangaa pachadi who will say no to this tangy spicy one.Mostly this in the menu of festivals ,it is meant to have all tastes in it,that's "arusuvai"-salt,sweet,sour,bitter,hot/pungent and astrigent(thuvarpu).when googled i found that if making for tamil new year then saute some neem flowers in ghee and add to it.Try this pachadi and i am sure you will fall in love with it.
Ingredients:
(P.time- 10 min, cooking time-10 mins)
- Mango- 1 big
- Jaggery- 1 tbsp(see note)
- Red chilli powder- 2 to 3tsp
- Turmeric powder- 1\2 tsp
- Salt to taste
To temper:
- Oil- 2 tsp
- Mustard- 1 tsp
- urad dal- 1 tsp
- Curry leaves- a spring
Method:
1.Cut the mango into small cubes.(if u don't like the skin of it peel the skin &
and cut,i but I like the skin so added).
2.Heat oil in a pan,pop out mustard,followed by urad dal & curry leaves.
3.Then add ur mango pieces to it & add t.powder ,salt & chilli powder to it.
4.Add a piece of jaggery & little water for all to get combine.
5.Your tangy,spicy,sweety pachadi is ready.
Your can have it as side for any rice.
Note:
Since my daughter don't like sweetness more I just added a small piece ,you can increase if u like to be sweet.
