Mixed dal-Millet adai | Protein packed breakfast


Mixed dal Adai with step by step pictures. 

Adai is rice- dal mix savory pancake. Here in addition to dal & rice I have also used a millet (Samai) to make it more healthy. Adai doesn't require any fermentation. You can make it right after grinding the batter just a resting time of 10-15minutes. Since this recipe is so heavy with dal& rice you will feel full with just one adai. Here I have used little millet but you can use other millet varieties also.

Ingredients:


Little millet/samai-1 cup
Parboiled rice-1 cup
Urad dal-1/4 cup
channa dal-1/4 cup
Toor dal-1/4 cup
Red chilly-4
Ginger- 1 inch piece
salt
Onion-1,chopped
curry leaves
Oil- to make it.


Method:

1. Clean all dal, rice, millet and soak for 2 hours along with red chilly






2. Add to a mixer along with chopped ginger and grind it.


3. Make a smooth batter.

4. Add salt and mix well. Just keep for 10-15 mins.

5. Add chopped onion, curry leaves and mix well.

6. Heat a dosa pan and pour a ladle of the batter. don't spread much. Drizzle oil on sides.

7. When cooked on one side, flip and cook the other side.

Serve hot with your favorite chutney.Ginger chutney taste best for this.
