Greens are very healthy as there are rich on iron, fibre and many nutrients.But nowadays many hesitate to buy the greens because of the hygiene in handling the leaves by the seller/vendor and place where these are grown.We cannot assure the cleanliness but we can clean it well in more and more water or with rock salt dissolved in water.

Since this greens is in red colour it gets this same.Its super tasty,yummy and healthy too.Here I have ground coconut with spices and added to it but you can also just add grated coconut.In that case while sauteing add some chilies.

1 Pluck the leaves alone from the stem.( i used only leaves but it you like you can use thins stems also).Clean the greens well in water for many times to remove all pesticides and dirts.
2.Chop the cleaned leaves finely.Grind the ingredients given to grind to a coarse paste.
3.Heat oil in pan, crackle mustard followed by chopped onion and saute for a while.
4.Then add in chopped leaves and the ground paste.Add salt and mix well.
5.Cover and cook for some time till all water dries up.
Healthy keerai thoran is ready to be served with rice.
Note:
1.Instead of grinding coconut we can also just use grated coconut.

- Mustard- 1\2 tsp
- Onion-1
- Salt to taste
To grind:
- Coconut pieces- 2 tbsp
- Green chilly-2 or 3
- Cumin seeds-1 tsp
- Garlic pods- 2 or 3
- Turmeric powder- 1\2 tsp
