But in this recipe. we don't need to make any masala as such.Just cook with spices ,add grated coconut and switch off.This makes an excellent combo with rice when served along with dal or sambar.

Ingredients:
- Sweet potatoes-3 ( medium sized)
- Oil- 2 tsp
- mustard seeds-1 tsp
- onion-1,thinly sliced
- green chilly-1.slited
- garlic flakes-3 r 4 ,finely chopped
- curry leaves-few
- turmeric powder-1\2 tsp
- red chilly powder- 1 tsp
- salt to taste
- grated coconut- 3 tbsp
Method:
1.Peel and chop the sweet potatoes into medium sized cubes.
2.Heat oil in a pan,crackle mustard seeds followed by chopped onion.green chilly, garlic and curry leaves.Saute till onion becomes translucent.
3.Then add in chopped sweet potato pieces and saute for a while.Add in all dry powders and salt.Sprinkle some water ,cover and cook the potatoes.Since these get easliy cooked check now and them and toss it .
4.Lastly add grated coconut and switch off.
Serve as side for hot steamed rice along with any veg or non-veg gravy.
