If you are a regular reader of my blog you must have known how much i love sweets,yes i always roam for some sweets.Need to see how happy i would be when i make them,no words.This rasgulla is a famous Bengali sweet which is nothing but Indian cottage cheese balls cooked in sugar water.
Preparation time: 10 mins
cooking time: Under 30 mins
Cuisine: Indian |Dessert
Ingredients:
- Milk- 2 cups
- Lemon juice-from 1 lemon
- Sugar-1 n 1\2 cup
- Cardamon-3
- Water-2 cups
- Pistachio nut- to garnish
Method:
1.Boil the milk.When it boils simmer it and squeeze the lemon juice,soon the milk will be curdled.Mix for some time till the whey water separates and them switch off.
2.Filter the paneer through a sieve lined with a cloth.Then wash the paneer under running water to remove the smell of lemon.Squeeze the water well and hang for some time.
3.Then take the paneer from the cloth and knead for sometime ,it will become a soft pliable dough.Make small balls of it.
4.Take sugar,water and cardamon in a dish and bring it to boil.Then slowly add the prepared panner balls one by in it.Cover and cook till it doubles in size.
Cool down, refrigerate and serve chilled with chopped nuts.
Note:
1.After it has cooked well and if you feel the syrup is too thin,boil in low flame till the consistency you want.
