How was your onam celebration we celebrated well.My daughter made a small flower decoration on our house entrance after we return from our Sunday mass.Although it was sunday and must non-veg in our houses i fully made vegetarian and relished it.To light up the heavy neal from yesterday i share an easy sting hopper recipe with wheat.
Preparation time:10 mins
cooking time:10 mins
yields:9 hoppers
Ingredients:
- Wheat flour- 1 n 1\2 cup
- Water-3\4 to 1 cup
- Salt to taste
- Oil-1 tsp
- Grated coconut
Method:
1.Dry roast the wheat flour for some time till a nice aroma comes until it slightly darkens.Be careful not to burn it.
2.Boil some water. To the roasted and cooled flour start by adding 1\2 cup hot water along with salt and oil and make a soft nonsticky dough.Use a wooden spatula for mixing.
3.Fill the idiyappam presser with the dough and press it in the plate and steam it.In just 8-10 mins it will be ready.Remove and do the same for all dough.
Top it with grated coconut and serve with any veg or non -veg based gravy.
