Snack gourd / Podalankai baji with step by step picture and video.
As the weather here in Chennai is rainy and cool we are appetite towards some bhaji/pakora for tea time snack. Bhaji can be made with any vegetable. Just prepare the batter, dip the vegetable, and fry it. Serve it hot with some tomato sauce for evening chai. check out the baji bonda ready mix here.

Ingredients:
Snake gourd/ podalangai-2 ( small size)
Besam flour- 1 cup
Rice flour-1/4 cup
Red chilly powder- 1 tsp
Hing powder- 1/2 tsp
cooking soda-1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
oil-to fry.
Method:
1. In a mixing bowl add besan, rice flours, chilly powder, hing,salt,soda, and mix.
2. Add water and make a semi-thick paste.
3. Scrap the outer side of snake gourd, cut and remove the inner parts. clean and cut into rings.
4. Dip each ring in the prepared batter and drop into hot oil.
5. Deep fry it on both side and remove from oil when fried well. Do the same for all rings.
Serve hot with tomato sauce.
