Yam puli kuzhambu video recipe. Although fish curry is mandatory in our daily food I feel bored many times daily eating fish. I such days I make puli/tamarind curry with any vegetable I have and fry the fish to go with it.Here I have made it without using coconut but you if making for many people you can grind some coconut and add to it.

Ingredients:
- Yam/ karunai kilangu-1\4 kg
- Tamarind-small lemon size
- Oil-2 Tsp
- Mustard-1\2 tsp
- fenugreek/methi seeds-1\4 tsp
- Onion-1, chopped
- Garlic pods-4, chopped
- Curry leaves-few
- Kuzhambu masala powder- 2 tsp ( adjust)
- Red chilly powder-1\2 tsp ( optional)
- Water
- Salt to taste
Method:
1.Soak tamarind in water and extract juice.Cut yam into medium sized pieces.
2.Cook the cleaned yam in tamarind juice.
3.Heat oil in a pan, crack mustard, followed by methi seeds, chopped onion, garlic and curry leaves.Saute it well.
4.Then add kuzhambu masala powder, cooked yam along with the tamarind juice.Check for spice and add chilly powder it needed.
5.Add salt and water and allow it to boil.
6.When it becomes little thick switch off.
Serve for hot steamed rice along with any side dish or papad.
Note:
1.If you don't have kuzhambu masala powder just add chilly, coriander & turmeric powder.
Tasty kuzhambu to have with white rice!
