Avaram Poo, called Tanner's Cassia in English, avarike in Kannada, tamgedu in Telugu, commonly found in dry regions of India and Srilanka. This tea is full of antioxidants. While browsing I learned that in the olden days, when people walked for a long distance under the hot sun, they used to carry a bundle of avarampoo (Tanner's - Cassia in English) on their heads to keep their body cool and prevent the body from getting dehydrated. If even keeping the flowers on the head prevents dehydration, just imagine how hydrated the body will be when you take it internally.
This tea is also one of the best substitutes for caffeinated drinks. Tanner's Cassia tea hydrates the body. To make Tanner's Cassia tea, take mature palm candy and hulled cardamom seeds. You can also substitute it with regular green cardamom powder, pound them both together in a mortar and pestle along with dried Tanner's Cassia. Boil whole, with or without organic milk in a pan; add this dried flower or powder. This tea keeps the body hydrated, is full of antioxidants that keep the skin and body healthy, is very good for diabetic patients (they can skip the palm candy in the recipe), treats excessive thirst and painful urination very effectively. Elachi treats mouth odor and palm candy is good for anemia.
This tea is also good for diabetic patients as it helps to control sugar.
