I don't need to mention the health benefits of oats as we all know about it and it is very good for diabetic people too.Dal/lentils along with with oats make it more nutritious and when we make it as crepes its easy to eat it.Serve this crepes with any spicy chutney/dip .
Preparation time: 2 & 1\2 hours ( including soaking time)
Cooking time: 5 mins for a crepes
Serves: 3 to 4
Ingredients:
- Oats- 1 n 1\2 cup ( i used Quaker oats)
- Channa dal-1\4 cup
- urad dal-1\3 cup
- Red chilly- 2 r 3
- Fennel seeds-1\2 tsp
- ginger- 1 inch length
- Salt to taste
- water- as needed
- gingelly oil-while making crepes
Method:
1.Soak both dal for 2 hours.Powder the oats in the mixer.
2.First grind fennel seeds,ginger and red chilly to a coarse powder.Then add in soaked dal and grind to a paste form with some water.Transfer the batter to a bowl.
3.To the batter add the powdered oats,salt and mix.Adjust the consistency of the batter by adding water.
4.Heat a skillet/tawa and pour a ladle of batter ,spread a little.Drizzle oil at the ends.Flip and cook on the other side. too.
Serve hot with any spicy chutney.
Note:
1.You can even soak 1\2 cup raw rice and grind along with the dal.But i didnot use it.
2.Can add some chopped onion and curry leaves while making the crepes.
