I love sweet and to end my meal i search of some sweets always.Also i love to try my hands on with any new sweet variety.On Onam which was on last Sunday i prepared two payasam one with vermicelli and another one is this channa dal.Do give a try to satisfy you sweet crave like me.

1.Since i used coconut milk powder to make coconut milk it was easy to make diluted and thick milk.If using fresh milk use first milk as thick one while second and third as thin milk.
- channa dal/Kadalai paruppu-1\2 cup
- Coconut milk-1 cup(i used coconut milk powder)
- Jaggery-1\2 cup
- Dry ginger powder-1\2 tsp
- Ghee-1 tbsp
- Cashew & raisins-few
- Coconut pieces-1 tbsp
- Cardamon powder-1\2 tsp
Method:
1.Clean the dal and soak in water for 1\2 an hours .Then pressure cook it with some water. It should be cooked not mushy.
2.Meanwhile heat jaggery with some water till it melts.Then switch off ,filter to remove the impurities.
3.Lightly mash the dal ,add in some diluted coconut milk and bring to boil. Then pour the jaggery syrup, cardamon powder and dry ginger powder.When everything binds together add in thick coconut milk.And switch off.
4.Heat heat in a tadka pan fry cashew and raisins first and take it out.then in the same pan add coconut pieces and fry till it becomes brown.Add the ghee fried items to the payasam and serve.
