After starting my baking with yeast I decided what not make a vegetable pizza first and tried this.I want it to be more indianised and made many changes, got some idea from here. You can change the toppings as your wish,it can be anything veg or non veg.I have decided to make a chicken version of it and will let you know once it turn out good.
Ingredients:
For pizza base:
All purpose flour- 1cup
Whole wheat flour- 1 cup
Dry yeast- 1 tsp
sugar- 1 tsp
Salt- 1\2 tsp
Olive oil- 2 tbsp.
Luke warm water
For Pizza sauce:
Tomato-2(medium sized)
Onion-1
Garlic pods-4
chilli flakes-1 tsp (I used chilli powder)
olive oil
Oregano-1\2 tsp(I used mixed herbs)
salt
For Toppings:
Onion
Tomato
Bell pepper
Mozzarella cheese
Oregano or mixed herbs
Method:
For Base:
1.In a bowl add luke warm water sugar & yeast ,mix well and keep it for proofing.
2.In a large bowl take 1 cup wheat flour& 1 cup flour, salt, olive oil and pour the proofed yeast.
3.Add warm water little by little to make a soft dough, add flour if needed.
4.In an oil greased bowl keep the dough covered for it to double in a warm place.
5.After it doubles punch out the air and knead again.Divide into two equal pats and keep aside.
For sauce:
1.Heat oil in a pan, saute onion, garlic and tomato till it become soft and mussy.
2.Cool it and grind it.
3.Reheat the paste ground paste with chili flakes and herbs.
4.Turn off when it thickens.
To assemble:
If you have a pizza stone use that else(like me) use ur baking tray spread with butter paper/aluminium foil.
Pre-heat the oven at 200C for 15min.
1.Take a ball of dough spread in on the foil, starting from centre with your finger tips, pierce it with fork.
2.Spread the prepared sauce on it.
3.Arrange the veggies for ur choice.
4.Grate mozzarella cheese over it,sprinkle the dried herbs(oregano) over it.
5.Bake it fro 7-10 mins in the oven or until the crust turns golden brown.
6.Take it out,slice & enjoy.
Note:
1.Baking time may vary for oven.
2.You can add veggies u like.U can even use cheese slices too.
3.You can use readymade pizza sauce also.
