Homemade urad dal flour with step by step pictures.
As festivals are lining up I decided to post relating to that. Urad dal flour is one keep ingredients when making murukku/chakli. Though it is available is supermarkets making it at home is also easy and economical.
Let us see how to make it.

Makes: 1/3 cup
Ingredients:
Whole urad dal-1/3 cup
Method:
1. Dry roast the dal in a pan till a good aroma releases. Be careful not to burn it.
2. Nicely roasted dal. Switch off and allow to cool.
3. Add to a dry mixer.
4. Powder it to a fine form.
5. Sieve the powder. Put back the collected residue , powder it and sieve again
Your urad dal flour is ready. It is mainly used to make chakli, seedai,etc.
