Badam murukku with step by step pictures.
No festival is complete with snacks .Everyone prepare or buy both sweet and savory items. For this Diwali if you are looking for a twist from your regular murukku then try this badam murukku which is super tasty, crispy and addictive also. One can never stop with a single piece.Preparation time: 10 mins

Makes around 15 pieces
Ingredients:
- Rice flour- 1 cup
- Badam/almond- 10 pieces
- Butter/ghee-1 tsp
- Sesame seeds-1\2 tsp
- Hing powder-1\2 tsp
- Red chilli powder-1\4 tsp(optional)
- Salt to taste
- Oil-to deep fry
Method:
1.Soak badam/almond in water for sometime.Then peel the skin.
2.In a mixer add peeled almonds.Grind it to a paste with little water.
3.Take flour,hing,salt,butter/ghee,sesame seeds in a bowl.Add the ground badam paste.Add chilly powder(if using).Mix it to a soft dough.
4.Meanwhile heat oil in pan to deep fry.Add a tsp of hot oil in the prepared dough and mix well.
5.Fill the murukku presser with the prepared dough and press it on flat surface(I pressed on a ladle).
6.Drop the prepared spirals on hot oil and fry it well it done flipping either sides.
7.Drain excess oil over paper towel.Cool completely and store.
Serve as snack for evening chai/tea.
Who doesn't like karu muru murukku? Love the addition of almonds in it...
