Sesame & Beaten rice Balls | Ellu & Aval Laddu with Coconut sugar | Diabetic friendly Recipe | Low GI index sweet

Coconut sugar doesn't sound weird ,yes I too felt the same when I got this product from plattershare's goorganic belly nirvana  associate program. The product says that it can be used as regular sugar in place of white sugar and it is suitable for diabetic people as it has low glycemic index.
I have made this laddu/ balls with the sugar and doesn't find  any change in flavors and taste and I world probably say it's tastier than the regular one.I have made with white sesame seeds but you can also use the black one.

Preparation time; 5 mins
cooking time: 2 mins
makes: 15 balls ( depends on size)

Ingredients:
  • White sesame seeds- 1\2 cup
  • poha/beaten rice / aval -1\2 cup ( i used red colored thick one)
  • coconut sugar- 3\4 cup
  • ghee -1 or 2 tsp
Method:

1.Dry roast sesame seeds and poha in pan for few minutes in low flame till they absorb the heat.( Be careful not to burn it.).Cool it completely.

2.Transfer it to a dry mixer and first coarsely ground it then add in coconut sugar and grind further.Lastly, add little ghee and just grind once.

3,Make balls out it and serve.

Stays good in room temperature.

Note:

1.You can use black sesame seeds also.

2.Any variety poha/ aval will work.
