As i have said earlier tapioca is one of my favourite ,which i can have any time.In a tv show they mada thattai & in another they made sweet laddu with it,then thought can make variety with this maravalli kilangu & tried this.To say the truth my daughter who don't like this kilangu ate well & liked it very much.
Ingredients:
(Pre.Time- under 30 min)
- Tapioca/Maravalli kilangu- 1 big piece
- Rice flour-1\2 cup(or as needed)
- Bengal gram/Channa dal/kadalai paruppu- 1 tbsp
- Ginger grated- 2 tsp
- Green chilli-2( acc to ur spice level)
- Jeera- 1 tsp
- Curry leaves-1 spring
- Salt to taste
- Oil to fry
Method:
1.Peel the outer portion of the kilangu, cut in medium pieces and pressure cook it for 3-5 whistle with little salt.
2.Soak channa dal in water for 15-20 min.
3.After the stream is released, drain water & smash it well, remove the inner root if it has.
4.Add rice flour, soaked Channa dal, grated ginger,g.chilli, jeera, salt &curry leaves and mix well for form a batter similar to vadai batter(no need to add water as the kilangu will have,if need just sprinkle very little).
5.Heat oil in a kadai, take small portion of the mix ,flatten in ur palm and add to heated oil.
6.Fry on both sides & serve with ketchup.
Best to a have it with tea/coffee.
Note:
You can even add maida in the place of rice flour.
