Tandoori Roti on Stove top | How to make Tandoori Roti without Tandoori oven (with a small video)

Tandoori is a famous Indian flat bread made in tandoori oven. While searching i found an easy way to make on stove top here.I tried it and it was super easy, try this method.

Ingredients:

  • wheat flour- 1 cup
  • APF/maida-1\4 cup
  • yogurt/curd- 1\4 cup
  • salt-1\2 tsp
  • baking powder-1\4 tsp
  • sugar-1\4 tsp( i didnot add)
  • water to bind& brush
  • flour- to dust

Method:

1.In a bowl add both flour, salt and baking powder and mix.Make a well in centre and add yogurt to it and mix.

2.Slowly add add water and knead to a soft dough.Cover and keep it for 30 mins.

3.Make 5 equal balls of it.Roll it on the rolling pan.Brush water on rolled roti.

4.Heat a pan(not non stick),drop the rolled roti in it in such a way the water spread surface is in contact in with the pan.

5.Wait for some bubbles to form.the roti will stick nicely to the pan as we have applied water. Now tilt the pan keep it the stucked roti over the flame,increase/decrease for few seconds.Wait till it is cooked.

6.Then keep the pan on the stove till the other side is cooked.when done transfer it and spread oil/butter over it.Do the same for all the dough balls.

Serve hot with any veg/non veg gravy. We had it with badami chicken

check this video how i did.

I have just added the youtube link for it click here
