Badusha | Diwali sweet

Badusha
Badusha is one of my all time favourite sweets.When i buy or get any sweet box i use to see for it first.This was my first attempt to make it and it came wonderful.Do try its very simple,my daughter who doesn't like sweets ate more,she loved it.



Ingredients:

  • All purpose flour/Maida-1 1 \2 cup
  • Butter/vanaspathi- 50 ml(i used only this much,u can use more)
  • Cooking soda-a pinch
  • salt- a pinch(i added u may omit it)
  • Oil to fry
  • Badam to garnish

Sugar syrup:

Sugar- 1 cup
water- 1\2 cup(just to immerse sugar)

Method:


1.Sieve maida well,add salt and cooking soda to it.


2.Add the vanaspathi/butter to it and mix well till it form like bread crumbles.

 

 


3.Add very little water to make a soft dough(may be just 1\4 cup will be enough).


4.Close,Keep for sometime,then make small balls of it,press in ur palm and make a thumb

impression.Do for all balls.


5.Heat oil in pan and fry all the made balls.
 
6.Make sugar syrup with 1 cup sugar and water,no need for any sugar consistency.

7.When the syrup is hot add the fried things to it.


8.When well absorbed take out and decorate with sliced badam.



(this quantity yield 14 pieces)

Note:

1.Some will add curd to it,i didn't as in a tv show they said if u add curd it will give light brown color.U may add if u like.
